A malware or malicious program called 'Agent Smith' has spread on  Android phones The malware has recently spread to 1.5 crore smartphones in India. According to the cyber security organization Checkpoint, the malware, called Agent Smith, took the place of the automatically installed app by exploiting various known software bugs in Android phones. It then manages the malicious version of the app without any user intervention.

Google has recently removed a few apps from the Google Play Store for allegedly spreading such malware. Experts have suggested that those who have such harmful apps on their phones should remove them quickly.
